About Mama & Lola
Mama & Lola’s journey is one of resilience and hope. Mama, a 6-year-old American Shorthair, is friendly and playful, eager to explore the world beyond what she once knew—her first real cat toys have brought her endless joy after years with only a sock. Her daughter, 5-year-old Lola, hasn’t always known gentle handling and has a nervous streak, but has begun to blossom in her foster home with increased trust and patience. Both girls arrived in tough shape and needed diligent medical care, including eye infection treatment for Lola and healing for sore spots that required shaving. These two are deeply bonded, finding comfort in each other and relying on their close connection to feel safe. Mama tested FIV positive, though Lola is negative; FIV+ cats like Mama go on to live long and fulfilling lives with proper care, and there’s minimal risk of transmission in a calm home. Mama & Lola are seeking a home together with someone patient and kind who understands their need for a gentle acclimation period. While they do very well with the foster family’s teens, they would not do well with young children. They haven’t been tested with other cats but may adapt to calm, passive feline siblings. If you have a peaceful, loving household and are ready to help these two girls continue their healing, Mama & Lola are ready to become loyal companions. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
