About Lyla
Lyla came up from Georgia and has settled into foster care in New York like she’s lived here all her life. She’s glued to her people, happy to snuggle on the couch, and loves to tag along wherever you go—movie nights, car rides, or just lounging in the sunshine. Lyla gets along with other dogs, both playful and mellow, and she tends to ignore smaller dogs. She’s calm and friendly with people and comfortable meeting new faces, though a busy house full of young kids can make her a bit uneasy. She’s house trained and kennel trained, adapts quickly to routines, and politely heads into her crate when it’s time. Sleeping arrangements are flexible—she’ll happily stay on her bed by yours or join you if welcomed. She’s food-driven, which makes training a breeze, and she’s already polite on leash even if she likes to weave a bit. Lyla isn’t much for toys, but treats are her passion, and she did well with grooming and bath time. She has a history of mild urinary incontinence, which is well-managed on medication; her vet thinks she might not need it forever. Lyla is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She hasn’t lived with cats or older kids, but she’s easygoing and friendly with dogs and people alike. Squirrel patrol in the yard is part of her daily routine. Lyla’s ready to settle in with a person or family looking for a sweet, loyal companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
