About Pluto
Pluto is a champion bug-catcher and will happily save you the trouble of ever picking up a fly swatter again. He’s a quirky, clever dog who picks up his leash and brings it over when he’s ready for a walk. His life took a rough turn when his owners had a child; Pluto’s high energy and strong herding instincts didn’t mix well with the new family dynamic, and he experienced harsh corrections. Because of that, he’s become head shy and easily startled by sudden movements or hands reaching for his collar. But when Pluto trusts you, you’ll see his true colors: confident, curious, and loyal. He does best in a home with adults or older children, since his excited jumping can overwhelm the little ones. He’s mouthy when happy, but easily redirected with a toy—this is also a dog who can’t resist smiling. An adopter experienced with herding breeds will be able to give Pluto the structure and compassionate environment he needs to thrive. Once you earn his trust, he will shower you with affection and want nothing more than to be your sidekick. Loud noises and unfamiliar scenes can still shake him, but he’s eager to overcome them with support. Pluto gets along with most dogs and cats, though his excitement sometimes gets the better of him—he’s just keen to make friends, even if he fumbles the greeting. A confident canine companion could be a great match for him. Pluto is sweet, doofy, and ready to blossom in the right home. Click apply to start the adoption process.
