About Rusty
Rusty is being fostered in Ft Worth, TX, but transport can be arranged to your area after his adoption is finalized. He’s a neutered black mouth cur/shepherd mix, estimated around 4-5 years old, but don’t mistake his age for slowing down—he stays plenty spunky. Shots are current, he’s heartworm negative, and microchipped. Rusty is a 50 lb compact, athletic guy who lights up for games of chase and keep away. He loves to play and gets excited for food and treats. In his foster home, he’s been completely house trained and crate trained, despite some shelter accidents earlier. Rusty knows his basic commands and rides well in the car with zero anxiety. With dogs, he does best with medium and large breeds, male or female, and can even thrive as a solo dog. He’s not cat tested, so that’s still a question mark. Rusty needs a fenced yard—apartments aren’t for him, and he’s not off-leash reliable. He’d fit with couples, single people, or families with kids over 10 (younger children aren’t recommended, since his bouncy style could knock them down). He’d love regular walks, running in the yard, and staying included in family adventures. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion for a lively household, give Rusty a chance.
