Visit Rapala at our cat adoption center - The PURRfect Match, in Andover (14033 Round Lake Blvd NW). Public visiting hours are Tues/Thurs. 3-7pm and Sat 10am-2pm. Rapala has been through a lot for, but underneath it all is an incredibly sweet, affectionate cat who's still hoping his perfect person is out there. Named after the famous fishing lure because he was found near the Como Lake Fishing Pier, Rapala's story started with a kind Parks worker helping him get to safety and into care. Since then, he's been learning that the world can be safe, kind, and full of people who love him. This handsome brown tabby boy may be a little shy at first, especially in busy environments with lots of activity and other cats, but give him a little time and patience and you'll see the real Rapala shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he absolutely adores attention. He'll curl up beside you, lean into pets, roll onto his back for belly rubbins, and happily remind you when he thinks it's cuddle time — even if that means strolling directly across your laptop to make his point. Rapala is a quieter soul who would thrive in a calm, understanding home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. He doesn't ask for much — just kindness, patience, and someone willing to let him blossom. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion with a gentle heart and so much love to give. And because we truly want to help Rapala find the fresh start he deserves, his adoption fee has been reduced by 50% for an approved adopter. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care.
