Maxine is a delight. She arrived underweight and a little confused, but has become the belle of the shelter. Wise and gentle, she is friendly and calm to all she meets; dog, cat, or human. She especially enjoys group play and interacts well with the smallest and largest dogs we have. Maxine is about 3 years old and weighs 53 pounds. She's in the prime of her life and ready to settle into a home to provide friendship and love for a kind individual or family. Come meet Maxine! The Powell County Animal Shelter is at 121 Echo Hollow Road, Clay City, KY. We can arrange to meet you at the shelter during or after open hours at a time that works for you. Shelter hours are 9-3 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 10 to noon on Saturday. It is always best to make an appointment by calling or texting 859-420-0175. Adoption fees for dogs range from $150-$200. The fee covers the mandatory spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, dewormer, and first round of flea and tick preventatives.
