She survived a horrific hoarding situation and made the brave decision to trust the humans who came to rescue her — and she has not looked back since. Now that Penelope knows life can include safety, affection, wet food, and cozy laps, she is fully embracing the good life. This sweet girl loves attention and has perfected the art of rubbing up under your chin like it is her full-time job. She is affectionate, social, and wonderfully expressive, happily chatting away while she explores her surroundings or comes trotting over for love. Penelope is also curious and adventurous. She enjoys climbing, investigating new spaces, and checking out whatever is happening around her. But no matter how busy she is exploring, she is always happy to come running back for lap time and affection. Watching Penelope discover joy after surviving such terrible conditions has been incredibly special. She is the kind of cat who makes you appreciate just how resilient animals can be. Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment. We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County. For Pets Already in the Home: Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe. Keep in Mind: We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible.
