Dorothy’s journey has been nothing short of incredible. Once living in a now-demolished building on 3rd Street in Albany, she was left to fend for herself in a vacant lot after the city cleared the area. That same block was home to Uncle Henry and Toto too—fellow Whiskers of Oz alumni who’ve also been given a second chance. When we found Dorothy, she had an injured tail that required amputation. But don’t worry—she’s doing beautifully now and carries herself with quiet grace. While she may not have a tail, she has plenty of heart. Now safe and settled, Dorothy has gently assimilated into shelter life. She coexists peacefully with other cats but tends to do her own thing—often found perched in a cozy corner, calmly observing her surroundings like the quiet guardian of the room. She’s a gentle soul who appreciates peace and would do best in a calm home without small children, with someone who has cat-experience. Dorothy may not ask for the spotlight, but she’s ready to be someone’s leading lady. Could that someone be you? Approx.
