Meet Jovie! This friendly dog appeared at his finder’s home in a neighborhood, and he was so sweet and lovable that the finder’s wife immediately wanted to keep him. Wanting to do the right thing, they brought him to the shelter to be scanned and reunited with his family if he had one. Unfortunately, like so many other stray dogs and cats, he had no chip, no ID, and no one came forward during his stray hold. Named for his jovial personality, Jovie is now in adoption and ready to find his forever family—one he can grow old with. Because he came to us as a stray, we do not know how he is with cats or children, and we are not able to test him for either. He did, however, meet a similar-sized neutered male dog here, and the two became fast friends. Jovie was playful from the start, offering play bows, bouncing around, and trying hard to initiate play. His energetic and friendly nature suggests he may thrive in a home with another dog. We always recommend meet-and-greets with other dogs and children before adoption to ensure the best fit. All of our adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Adopters will need to establish veterinary care after adoption to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness.
