**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. I’m Wiley and my foster mom says I am a perfect family dog. I am housebroken, courteous, cuddly and loving, and get along great with other dogs. I am trained on an invisible fence and crate/room trained too! I am in a home with a toddler and believe it or not, a Possum was with us for a while, so I am probably also good with cats. I’m about 2 years old and about 60 pounds. Here is what my foster mom says about me: Wiley is a sweet Shepherd/Hound mix looking for his forever home. He is one of the most loving dogs you’ll ever meet. He has never shown any meanness and absolutely loves to snuggle. More than anything, he just wants to be close to his people and soak up all the love he can get. He’s playful, adventurous, and always up for trying something new — even swimming! He enjoys playing with stuffed animals, and he loves it even more when you throw them so he can chase after them. He’s friendly with other dogs and has a brave, curious personality. One of his cutest quirks is that if you play the harmonica, he’ll sing and howl right along with you. He would do best with someone who has time to give him the love and attention he thrives on. He’s a very special dog who will make a wonderful companion. Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
