About Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi is a 10-month-old, 33-pound Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix with a personality that’s part goofball and part project. He’s spent five months growing in his foster home and, while deeply attached there, is more than ready to put down roots with someone willing to give him time and patience. He’ll need a fenced yard and at least one dog sibling because he draws his courage and comfort from other dogs. Kids are a no-go for him. When you first meet Bon Jovi, he’ll likely be wary and keep his distance—just ignore him and give him time. He warms up, but it usually takes weeks, not days. Once trust is earned, he becomes affectionate, snuggly, and attentive. He’ll nap beside you, hand out boops, and seek out attention, but only after he’s decided you’re safe. Early on, he tends to resist doing anything he thinks you want—from heading outside to entering his crate—but this subsides as your bond grows. Despite his insecurities, Bon Jovi never shows aggression or snaps. He tolerates handling when needed—even if he hates it in the moment—because deep down, he wants to connect. He can act sassy meeting new adult dogs, but usually wins them over and makes friends, given a little time. Bon Jovi’s squat, low-rider build and expressive face give him a unique look—his quirky appeal is matched only by the loyalty you get once he’s on your team. Investing in him is a long game, but the payoff is worth it. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
