Little miss Lauren is a gorgeous grey and white girl who recently came to FDHS as a stray and was never reclaimed by her previous family. Shelter life has been a big adjustment for this soft-hearted pup. Between the unfamiliar sounds, constant activity, and long hours spent alone in a kennel...it's taken Lauren some time to feel safe. When she first arrived, she would sit quietly in the corner of her kennel, trembling and avoiding eye contact. It was obvious she was waiting for someone to come back for her. Sadly, nobody ever did. But little by little, Lauren is beginning to open up to us. Underneath her timid exterior is an incredibly sweet little thing who just needs patience, kindness, and a calmer environment where she can relax and let her personality shine. She has been very non-destructive in her kennel, seems to have a great start on house manners, and has remained mostly indifferent to the other shelter animals. We think she may even enjoy having a furry friend in the home (with proper introductions). Lauren would likely do best in a quieter household without the hustle and bustle of young children.
