About Jimmy Durian

Jimmy Durian came from rough beginnings, arriving underweight, sick, and worn down after surviving outside with his siblings until Animal Control found them. In his foster home, Jimmy proved easy to crate train and discovered he enjoys his space but also seeks the company of other dogs. Once paired with friendly female dogs, Jimmy started coming out of his shell, growing stronger with every play session. He's a gentle, passive soul—more comfortable with dogs that won't pick on him and happiest with a canine friend for company. People have taken some time, but Jimmy now finds comfort in human touch and likes cuddling when he feels safe. Public places and leashes can still overwhelm him; he tends to shut down and just lie down. For all his progress, Jimmy still needs a patient home willing to continue his socialization, support his gentle nature, and help him build confidence. Jimmy is now neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He weighs in at about 65 lbs, tall and lean with a red merle coat. His start was tough, but Jimmy’s made great strides and could really thrive with a kind hearted family, especially one with another friendly dog. He is in Pearland, TX, but can be adopted out of state via transport partners. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
