About Lagoon
Lagoon is a three-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair living in Somerville, MA. He’s a quiet, extremely shy cat whose playful side appears mostly at night or when no people are around. Lagoon is not comfortable with petting, lap time, or being held, and generally avoids human attention for now. His foster describes him as very fearful and avoidant, but notes that he’s slowly but steadily gaining confidence—he’s begun to venture out in the evenings and loves to perch by a windowsill. On his own, Lagoon enjoys batting catnip toys and having nighttime zoomies, sometimes leaving area rugs a bit out of place come morning. He’s reliably litter box trained and uses his scratcher, though he may take a liking to rugs sometimes. Lagoon is food-motivated, enjoys both wet and dry meals on a schedule, and isn’t a picky eater. He is up to date on vaccinations and tested negative for aggression—he’s never bitten or scratched his foster, though he may swat defensively if approached too closely. Lagoon’s play is mostly self-directed, and he tends to meow when he’s hungry. He would do best with a very patient adopter who understands shy cats, and he’s proven he can live with other cats. If you’re prepared to offer time, calm, and consistency, Lagoon may slowly blossom into a more social companion. Think you have the right home for him? Click apply to start the adoption process.
