While Bear came to us from a loving home, she had a rough start for the first few years of her life. She didn't get very much socialization from people early on, so she really enjoys her space and is quite shy. While she does accept pets from people she knows and is starting to warm up to some staff, she will probably never be a super cuddly teddy bear. Bear likes to keep to herself, preferring to find a nice sunny spot outside or a corner to nap in, rather than hang out on the couch. She LOVES other dogs and really needs a buddy to show her the hang of things, like leash walking and letting her know people and new things are ok! Bear has been around teenagers before, so a family with older or no kids will make her happiest. Bear is so sweet and will be such a wonderful dog for anyone who has patience to help her grow her confidence and offer safety and comfort.
