Dulce — A Resilient Beauty with a Big Personality & an Even Bigger Heart 💛 Meet Dulce — a stunning, strong, and spirited girl from Puerto Rico whose journey is nothing short of remarkable. At around 4–5 years old, Dulce was rescued from a severe neglect case where she spent much of her life chained without proper food or water. When she was finally saved, she was nearly 30 pounds underweight. Despite everything she endured, Dulce never lost her love for people—and that says everything about who she is. Dulce is affectionate, social, and genuinely enjoys being around her people. She loves to be part of everyday life—whether that’s going for walks, hanging out at home, or joining you on outings. At the same time, she has a beautifully balanced personality and an independent side, making her a great companion for someone who appreciates a dog that can both engage and settle on her own. She’s a fun, enthusiastic girl who loves to play—especially ball and tug—and she brings a joyful energy wherever she goes. Dulce is also quite strong and confident, with a personality to match. She’s well-trained and knows sit, stay, down, heel, and catch, and she is both potty trained and crate trained. Because of her strength and confident nature, Dulce will thrive with an experienced owner who is familiar with strong breeds and can provide clear structure, consistency, and leadership. In the right home, she truly shines. Dulce gets along well with other dogs, but she prefers not to share high-value items like food or toys—understandable given her past. For this reason, she would do best as the only pet in the home where she can feel fully secure and relaxed. She would also do best in a home with older children, as her playful and excited personality may be a bit much for smaller kids. Dulce’s ideal home is one that will embrace her for who she is—a loyal, social, and confident companion who is just as happy being included in your daily adventures as she is relaxing nearby.
