About Minnie

Meet Minnie. She’s about 3 years old and has already faced a lot. Found abandoned outside a church during a brutal New York winter, Minnie landed in the shelter system—scared, at risk, and needing a break. She got it thanks to a family who saved her from euthanasia, though it turned out their household wasn’t the right fit for her. Minnie’s now in a foster home in Oakhurst, NJ and is revealing her true colors. She’s a little cautious at first, but it doesn’t take long before Minnie’s goofy, affectionate side comes out. She loves to nudge for attention, drags her favorite stuffed toys everywhere, and when she’s happy, her whole body seems to wiggle. Sunbathing, sniffing, and rolling in the yard are some of her simple pleasures. She gets her zoomies out and then settles in for cuddles. Minnie is house trained, crate trained, and overall polite—she isn’t a barker or a chewer and entertains herself with toys if you’re busy. She travels well in the car, knows some basics like “sit,” and is working on her leash skills. Minnie’s lived peacefully with another dog in her foster home, enjoys playing with him, and has done well previously around kids. On leash, she hasn’t shown real interest in chasing cats. She needs a little time to feel secure, but she bonds hard and is loyal, sweet, and lively when she does. Minnie could be your only dog or enjoy a canine buddy with the right intro. She’s ready for a real home—a place she can call hers for good. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
