About Shiggy

Meet Shiggy! Shiggy is a male Belgian Malinois mix, just five months old as of the end of April 2026, and weighing in around 22 pounds. His brindle coat and short fur make him a striking pup to look at. He’s in need of a new home due to changes in his family’s situation—they simply can’t provide him the attention and care a young Malinois needs. This pup is the definition of friendly. Shiggy lights up around people, loves children, and gets along well with other dogs. He’s smart and eager to please, showing lots of promise with basic commands and motivated by toys. Cat compatibility is still untested, but a savvy cat could probably teach him the ropes. As a typical breed trait (and just being a puppy), he’s brimming with energy and will need an outlet for it, so active adopters are a must. He loves belly rubs, is a big snuggler, and sleeps quietly in his crate. House training is progressing well and he’s shown pretty good manners in the house—still, it’s wise to puppy-proof just in case. Shiggy isn’t yet neutered, and all vaccinations are current. Shiggy is being rehomed as an owner surrender and not currently living with Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue, but the rescue will connect you directly with his current family. Since he was born on December 26, Shiggy is a Capricorn—a sign known for tenacity and loyalty. He’s ready for someone to help him become their perfect companion. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
