Blackie showed up near Highway 64 and HH in Goodson, abandoned but clearly accustomed to a home and family. He’s a big-hearted Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd mix, around five years old, and more of a couch potato than a wild spirit. Even after what he’s been through, he’s gentle, affectionate, and well behaved—he just wants a steady place to relax and be part of a household. Blackie loves his walks, is great on a leash, and is happy to snooze on the bed or in your lap. He gets along well with other dogs (currently living with two Goldens), rarely barks except when someone’s at the door, and listens well—he already knows basic commands, stays on the trail during walks, and is eager to please. His teeth are in great shape, his energy is balanced, and he’s rapidly adjusting to a new rhythm. Bath time and brushings aren’t an issue. He’s still shaking off a bit of fear from being rehomed, but he warms up fast and just wants someone to offer him patience and routine.
