About Gwenny

Gwenny is a four-year-old Sar Mountain Shepherd mix whose quiet confidence comes out once she’s comfortable. Her coloring is striking and a bit unusual for her breed, and she missed out on the traditionally long coat, which only adds to her unique look. Gwenny fits the peaceful, laid-back nature of her heritage. She’s shy at first, needing some time to get acquainted, but if you give her space she’ll slowly open up and show a warm, steadfast presence. She doesn’t constantly seek attention and prefers to rest nearby on her bed, checking in with her family instead of crowding them. Gwenny’s play style is gentle—she enjoys interacting with people and other dogs but needs thoughtful introductions to avoid being overwhelmed. In her foster home she’s been completely reliable uncrated and is already house and crate trained, though she prefers not to be shut away. Walks are a pleasure for Gwenny (she likes the left side for reasons of her own), and she’d love a calm, low-key home with a fully fenced yard, ideally with another mellow dog and children aged 7 or up. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for a quieter family life. Gwenny is currently fostered near Chicago, but can travel to Royal Oak, MI for a meet and greet with an approved family. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
