About Copita

***LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY : Copita needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking him to his follow-up vetting appointment for his dental cleaning with PPR's vetting partner in Sanford. This appointment has been scheduled, and the cost is covered in the adoption donation.*** Hello . . . My name is Copita and I am a 4-year-old Shih Tzu boy who weighs 8.2 lbs. I'm not a high-energy fella. I'm easygoing, super chill and more of a “relax and hang out” kind of boy. I'm looking for an equally chill forever home where we can enjoy life together. Favorite Things: Copita loves food. Give him a treat and you will have an instant friendship. Toys are not really his thing. A perfect day for Copita is going for a walk, getting belly rubs and curling up next to his person. He is a simple guy who enjoys routine in his life. Training & Manners: Copita is housebroken in his foster home. He walks well on a leash and tolerates car rides. Copita can be somewhat protective of his space and food and doesn't like being suddenly grabbed. He can be nippy at times and needs an adopter who will understand his boundaries and work with him when he is feeling grumpy. Health and Care: Copita is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Like any dog, he will need his monthly flea and heartworm prevention. He is currently scheduled for a dental cleaning at our veterinary partner in Sanford on May 21st – the cost of this is covered in your adoption donation. As a Shih Tzu, Copita will need professional grooming on a regular schedule, along with regular brushing to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. Other Animals: Copita has experience with calm, laid back dogs. He lives with two dogs and a cat in his foster home and does well with them, especially since they are calm, non-dominant dogs. Children: Copita will need a home without small children – respectful teenagers would be okay. Ideal Home: Copita would do well in a single-family home, apartment or condo. As long as he gets his nice walks, he is content. He can stay home alone without issues and has free rein of his foster home. At the end of each day, he is happy to crash into his dog bed. Overall: If you are looking for an independent, low-key companion who will happily keep you company (and nap right beside you), Copita could be a great fit for you. Do you think Copita could be the one for you? If so, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $400.
