Bella
AvailableBella is a senior female Shih Tzu with a harlequin coat and medium-length fur. She weighs in as a small-sized dog and lives in Eustis, FL. Bella is spayed, fully vaccinated, and house trained. She does have special medical needs requiring daily care and medication, but she’s used to her routine and handles it well.
About Bella
Bella is a gentle, loyal Shih Tzu searching for a special adopter who can handle her unique needs. At around 10 years old, she has plenty of love left to give and enjoys spending all her time near her person—she will quietly follow from room to room, join you for car rides, and walk nicely on a leash. Bella is easygoing at home, never making a fuss and patiently waiting by the door for your return. Currently working on a healthy weight-loss plan, Bella requires some straightforward daily care like eye drops and a liver supplement, both of which she takes without complaint. She’s been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, so her adopter should be prepared for daily medication (about $250/month) and a structured low-fat, low-sodium, high-protein diet. Her special needs don’t slow her down—she’s just as affectionate and loyal as ever. Bella prefers to be the only dog and isn’t looking for canine companions, but she does get along well with cats. She’s known for her quiet nature (with a sprinkle of cute snoring now and then) and adores head rubs. Bella is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and up to date on prevention. She’s currently in a foster home near Eustis, FL, and requires an approved application before scheduling a meet and greet. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Bella
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Shih Tzus like Bella typically thrive in calm, stable homes where they can be close to their people. They are well-suited to apartments or houses, as long as they have plenty of company and a cozy place to relax.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Bella, a Shih Tzu, doesn’t need much outdoor space. Regular leash walks and a small yard or patio for fresh air are usually enough, making them great fits for homes without large outdoor areas.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Shih Tzus are generally gentle and tolerant, often doing well with respectful children. Bella prefers a quiet environment, so a home with older, gentle kids or without children might help her feel most comfortable.
