Beans Special Needs
AvailableBeans is a small Chihuahua mix who’s an adult male and has been neutered. He is housebroken and currently living in St. Louis, MO. Beans is a special needs dog due to his significant heart murmur, and he requires some extra care.
About Beans Special Needs
Beans has a level 4 heart murmur, so adopters will need to keep a close eye on his health and note he’s considered special needs, though he’s not taking medication at this time. This 8 1/2-year-old Chihuahua mix, about 12 pounds, is housebroken and settles into car rides well, preferring to curl up in the passenger seat. You won’t need to worry about walks—Beans isn’t leash trained and absolutely must have a securely fenced yard; he's a born escape artist and loves to climb or dart through open doors. He’s lived a tough life before rescue, with past flea and tick trouble that left its mark, and he has a cloudy eye but still sees fine. Beans might do well with another dog as a companion, which could help him ease into home life. He’s set in his ways but just needs a committed, patient adopter to help him feel safe.
