Dexter is a neutered male Hound and Cattle Dog mix with a short golden and tan coat. He is large in size, about two years old, and currently in Texarkana, TX. Dexter is not yet house trained but is vaccinated. He does best as the only pet and would love a home with plenty of outdoor space.

About Dexter

Dexter is a high-energy Hound/Catahoula mix who’s been with the rescue since he was a puppy. Now two years old and neutered, Dexter thrives with room to move—an adopter with acreage would be a great fit. He’s very sweet and will form a protective bond with his person but tends to do best as the only dog in the home. Dexter does not get along with cats or other dogs, and his energy level isn’t suited for families with small children. He was previously adopted and returned because his energy overwhelmed a family without enough space for him to run.
