Hi! My name is Blanche and I am looking for a forever home. My previous owner had to go into assisted living and her family took me to a really scary place called a shelter where, after a very short time, I was going to be placed on that bad thing called "the list". A volunteer at the shelter contacted BCAA to see if they might be able to help me and they said yes, and she got me sprung and into my foster home ... yeah! When I was dropped off at the shelter, they didn't even leave me with my name so my kennel card put "White Dog" as my name. My foster mom said I needed something a whole lot prettier than that and gave me the name Blanche which means "white" or "fair" and I picked it up real quick and come whenever she calls me. I appear to be a chihuahua mix (maybe with some type of terrier?) and I'm about 4 years old so I'm past all of that puppy foolishness. I came into foster a bit overweight at almost 25lbs but foster mom has me on a diet and I'm working hard at getting my figure back (I should probably be at around 20lbs or a little less). Both my foster parents says I'm such a super girl as I'm "just right" ... I can keep up with you on a good walk or hike but also chill with you at night; I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and haven't bothered the cats; and I have done really good in my crate which I go right into when asked and haven't had any accidents and no barking or tearing up of any bedding (I would really prefer to be out with you, though). I am good on a leash and love going for walks as it means I get to be with you and go out on an adventure.
