We love her little mumbles talkative sounds. We love that she is brave, and feel very protected when she’s home with us. We love her soft, fluffy coat and her black chow chow tongue, and her little head tilt when she's curious about something. 💛 Personality Snapshot ● Describe in 3–5 words: curious, on-the-go, teddy bear ● Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Moderate ● More people‑oriented or independent? Independent ● How do they handle new situations? She is curious and confident in most situations. She may whine a little but she bounces back with a little reassurance. 🐕 Social & Home Life ● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? Curious about most people but not overly excited or interested. She loves men in particular, which is rare! ● How are they with other dogs? Friendly and excited to meet dogs! She is sometimes scared of dogs that are bigger than her. 🎓 Training & Manners ● Potty trained? Does well with frequent potty breaks and knows to wait by the door when she has to go out. Prefers to use a backyard as a bathroom as opposed to walks, which are more for exploration and adventure. ● Crate trained? No, but we are working with her ● Leash skills: Since she was a stray she is a little all over the place on the leash, and can pull. Since she is only 25lbs she’s pretty easy to control, and we are teaching her leash skills by giving her small treats when she stops to check in. 🌞 Daily Life ● Typical day with you: Morning walk, breakfast and backyard time for potty and play, nap, afternoon potty break and walk, relax at home, walk, dinner, potty break in the backyard, and a walk before bedtime ● Exercise needs: She’s not a hyper or overly active dog, but she definitely prefers to be outside and enjoys long walks. She would be a great hiking buddy and can walk forever! ● Favorite activities or toys: Sniff walks, finding kibble we hide around the house, bully sticks 🌱 Growth Areas ● Anything they’re still working on? Crate training, checking in while on-leash, potty training. She has started to ask when she needs to go out and it’s only day 2, so we have no doubt she can do it! ● What helps them succeed? She is very food motivated, so tiny treats for each good behaviour is working really well. And the more practice the better! 🏡 Ideal Home ● Only dog / With dog / Either: Either ● Good fit for apartment living? Yes, but would love access to a backyard or outside area ● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): Moderate to active. We call her Roxy Roller because she likes to be on-the-go. She could probably also do well in a calm house if they were able to give her lots of outside time. ● What kind of adopter would be the best match? Someone who likes the outdoors and adventuring! She thrives in the backyard and in parks, and loves to be anywhere she can sniff and smell everything. She;s still learning how to be a pet since she was a stray, but she is a fast learner.
