Smudge’s beginnings were good, but things got tough along the way. After severe, untreated ear infections, he went through a major surgery to remove most of his ear canals, leaving him with limited hearing—and a much more comfortable life. He’s grateful, affectionate, and seeks out every bit of human attention he can get. While Smudge hears a bit, he mostly experiences the world through touch and sight, and it hasn’t dampened his spirit. He’s house trained and good with cats and children, but he prefers to be the only dog in the home.
