Smudge is a well-mannered Shar-Pei who has already seen his share of tough breaks. He came into the shelter with mange and uncomfortable eyelid issues, but that didn't slow his spirit. Our vet estimates he's a bit over a year old and he's working on filling out after showing up a little underweight. Smudge took his first day out in stride, moving confidently through our office and greeting everyone with a friendly attitude. He's receiving treatment for mange and should have healthy skin soon, plus he recently recovered from neuter surgery and had entropion eyelid correction so he can finally take in his new world clearly. Around other dogs, Smudge is polite but prefers people—he tends to ignore the canine crowd in favor of human company. He rides quietly in the car though can get a little drooly with nerves.
