She was found running down the middle of the road, exhausted, underweight, and desperately searching for help. When we stopped, she ran straight to us and used the last of her strength to climb into the car. Once she made it in, she collapsed and fell asleep in our arms. That car was the first place Red felt safe in a long time. Because of whatever she’s been through, Red is still scared to leave her kennel and can be hesitant in new situations. She seems afraid she’ll be abandoned again, so she needs a patient home that will give her time to feel safe and learn she’s not being left behind. But underneath that fear is a sweet, loving girl who wants so badly to trust. Red is gentle, quiet, and once she feels safe, her soft and loving nature starts to shine through.
