About Bear

Bear is a sweet, loving, happy dog with a sensitive streak. When he gets anxious, his energy spikes — almost like his excitement and worry feed off each other — but underneath it all he just wants comfort and connection. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate every night. He knows basic commands and others like “crate”, “high five”, “hug”. Bear is still learning how to be the best boy. He'll do best with a patient and knowledgeable dog owner. Bear does better in an environment where he is the only dog, or the other dog is older and wiser who respects boundaries. He is known to be a counter surfer if you leave anything high value out, so be sure to keep those kitchen counters clean! He also can become possessive of high value items on the ground. Bear would do best in a home with older children that can respect his boundaries and make him feel secure. He would not do well with a home with younger children who do not understand his anxiety and nervousness. Fosters are like bridges between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats and dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters.
