About Hemlock
Hemlock is a striking 2-year-old Boxer mix with a short coat and a strong presence. His story started in tough circumstances—left behind with his companion Laurel and what rescuers believe was their pup. Despite that, Hemlock has proven himself resilient, loyal, and affectionate. At first glance, you might catch him barking in his kennel, giving off a tough guy vibe, but the moment you step out with him, his real personality shows: all tail wags and enthusiasm. He’s become a favorite with volunteers, thanks to great leash manners and a love of walks, especially if he’s with Laurel. Hemlock’s gentle and social nature comes through once he’s comfortable. He’s also quick to pick up on new tricks—he knows “give paw” and is always ready to learn from his people. Other dogs don’t seem to be an issue for him, and he thrives in their company. Considering his watchful nature, he’d do best with older kids who respect his boundaries and understand the importance of keeping doors closed. Hemlock is at his best outside the kennel, showing just how loving and loyal he can be. He’s looking for a patient family who can give him the fresh start he’s ready for. What are you waiting for?
