About Grace

Meet Grace DOB: 04/01/2024 Location: Dothan, AL Grace is a gentle, loving soul with a heart that just wants to belong. This sweet girl has been through a lot—spending time on her own without care or consistency—which explains her slightly timid nature at first. But once she feels safe, her affectionate personality truly shines. Grace is the kind of dog who always wants to be near her person. Whether you’re relaxing at home or moving from room to room, she’ll be right by your side, quietly keeping you company. One of her most endearing habits is how she’ll nudge your hand with her nose or gently flip it upward, asking for head rubs. It’s her way of saying, ā€œHey, don’t forget about me.ā€ On walks, Grace is attentive and eager to please. She stays close and will often glance back at you, checking in to make sure she’s doing everything right. She also enjoys simple pleasures, like stretching out in the grass and soaking up the sunshine. Grace gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes and temperaments. She’s wonderfully adaptable—calm and relaxed with laid-back companions, but happy to run and play with more energetic friends. She’s also respectful around cats, often choosing to simply ignore them after a quick sniff. While she has been around a young child, her size and initial curiosity suggest she would do best in a home with children around 8 years or older. With adults, she may be shy at first, but warms up quickly and becomes affectionate and trusting. Grace is housetrained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and rides well in the car. She may vocalize briefly when kenneled, but settles down quickly. Thunder doesn’t seem to scare her much—she’ll just come looking for comfort from her person. Because of her past, she is currently fed separately to ensure she feels secure with her meals. She hasn’t shown aggression—just a need for reassurance that her food is hers. Grace would thrive in a home where someone is around often, as she truly loves companionship and attention. A fenced yard where she can safely explore and relax would be ideal. While she does well with other pets, she would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as the center of attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet, and quietly affectionate companion, Grace might just be your perfect match. 🐾 All donation options, adoption applications, and important links are now in one place: https://linktr.ee/Srgdrr If donating, please note who or what your donation is for.
