Fauna is a truly special girl with a heart as gentle as they come. She was originally adopted as a puppy and spent her life in a loving home until her owner recently passed away. Kind neighbors stepped in to help, but at just 6 years old, Fauna still has more strength and energy than they could comfortably manage. Now, she's looking for a new family to give her the love and stability she's always known. Described by those who know her best as affectionate, well-behaved, docile, friendly, gentle, and relaxed, Fauna is everything you could hope for in a companion. She loves being around people, enjoys pets and attention, and has a calm, peaceful presence that makes her easy to have in the home. She also does wonderfully with other dogs and would be a fantastic addition to a family with children. Fauna has lovely manners--she walks nicely on leash without pulling and listens well to her people. She may give a bark if she hears something unfamiliar, but it's nothing excessive. When left alone, she settles herself comfortably on her quilt and patiently waits for her people to return. She enjoys her walks and quiet time alike, striking a perfect balance between companionship and independence. One small quirk--Fauna is a bit unsure about stairs, simply because she's never had to use them before. With a little patience and encouragement, she may learn, but a home without many stairs would be ideal.
