AvailableAbout Doug
*** ADOPT ME *** This is Doug. He’s a near 30lbs, 12-13 year old Cocker Spaniel with a heart of gold! A few months back he was supposedly found as a stray in a rural area. The local animal control did know his owner who had passed away about a year prior. We will never know how he ended up in bad shape after that time. He was matted, stinky and neglected. He has since been in a loving foster home. It took Doug some time to adjust being such a senior guy. We believe Douglas is now ready to seek his final landing place in life. The ideal home for Doug would be - * Someone who is home frequently. Doug hates to be crated, but can be cool in a room when your not around. He loves his people and would thrive with someone who’s not too busy to be by his side. He does better with a low key lifestyle. * Doug gets along well with other dogs. We have not had him around any cats. He is has some old man eyes and can’t hear the greatest, but follows your lead well. He loves toys and will gladly rip them up for a good time. * Old guy is extremely food motivated! He loves nothing more than mealtime & snacks. Loves it so much he will get into things if given the opportunity, so his new caretaker would need to be diligent about keeping these provisions out of his reach. * Doug can have periods of anxiety. He needs consistency and a solid routine. When he’s not napping and up moving around he’s need to go out every couple hours. He’s a super senior comes with the territory. * Doug is so true to the Cocker Spaniel breed. He has these routines like rolling on things after exciting events, acting like he’s never been fed at mealtime, copying what the other dogs in the house do and watching every move you make. He has the “merry” Cocker temperament so if you’re a breed enthusiast you’ll understand. Again he’s an older CS so cognitively he moves a touch slower. If Douglas sounds like the gentle senior boy you need in your life.. APPLY FOR ADOPTION - fill out an application on our website or email us for one - *www.Canineliberationleague.com *Canineliberationleague@gmail.com Doug is current on all vaccinations, bloodwork and heartworm testing. He’s pretty healthy for an old guy. He recently had a dental done and had a horrible oral nasal fistula where his diseased K9 was, that has since been removed and he’s feeling so much better! *Rescue is based out of South Lyon, MI ••• PLEASE SHARE ••• *In order to continue to help the seniors we need adoptions and networking! Sharing is caring!
