About Sugar Bear
Sugar Bear is a resilient, loving dog with a gentle heart, recently adapting to life on three legs after a tough infection caused a rear leg amputation. Through all these challenges, he’s stayed incredibly affectionate and sweet—a dog who truly thrives on human companionship. Sugar Bear is handling life as a tripod with impressive grace: he’s eating well, recovering smoothly, and showing the affectionate side that’s been there all along. The kennel gets him anxious, but outside that stressful environment, he simply wants to be close to his people and be part of the action. He still has a luxating patella on his remaining back leg, but you wouldn’t know it from how he moves around. Sugar Bear will need to stay lean, take joint supplements, and enjoy a mellow lifestyle that balances rest with gentle activity as he heals. His ideal adopter or foster will help him finish his recovery—think a calm environment, some short-term meds, an e-collar, and lots of love. In return, you get a loyal, grateful companion ready for his next chance at a real home. He’s house trained and ready for the comforts of family life. Sugar Bear is a Taurus, so he’s bound to be steadfast and loving. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
