About April Bandera

*Currently fostered in Ridgefield Park, NJ, just outside NYC* Meet April! April is a 5-month-old sweetheart weighing about 32 lbs, and she’s the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and gentle affection. We believe she may be a pit/lab mix (as with most rescues, it’s our best guess!), but what truly stands out is her loving, tender personality. See her playful personality here: https://youtu.be/CdIrycSkPR4?si=tXYcz_c2fKpknYZo April is incredibly sweet-natured with a soft, submissive personality. She lives with larger dogs and does great with them... she’s happy to follow their lead and be part of the pack. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give her a little time and you’ll see her blossom. Once she feels safe, she loves you with her whole wiggly body. These are the kind of full-body tail wags that make your heart melt! Her favorite things? - Toys (especially soft ones she can lie with) - Squeaky toys (her absolute favorite) - Cozy naps after playtime - Gentle snuggles once she knows you Like any puppy, her days are a happy rhythm of play, nap, repeat, and she brings so much joy wherever she goes. April is still young, so she’s looking for a family ready to guide her as she grows. She’ll thrive with structure, patience, and positive training, and she’s at the perfect age to build a strong bond. We do require adopters to commit to crate training, which helps set her up for success with potty training and confidence. April comes from an area where puppies are at very high risk, and choosing her doesn’t just save her life... it helps make room to save another here in Texas. If you’re looking for a gentle, slightly shy-at-first, deeply loving girl who will reward your patience with endless wiggly-body love, April might be your perfect match!
