About April Bandera
April Bandera is being fostered just outside NYC but is adoptable nationwide, and she's a 5-month-old mixed pit/lab (our best guess) with a playful spirit and a gentle, soulful side. April weighs around 32 lbs and has that short black coat that stays soft to the touch. Her style of 'puppyhood' is all exuberanceāshe dives into play, follows pack leaders among bigger dogs, and never misses out on a group nap. Despite all that energy, April stays sweet-natured and somewhat submissive, finding comfort among friendly dogs but still a bit shy when new humans come around. Give her a short while, and she will go from bashful to full-body tail wags. She loves toys, especially anything squeaky or soft enough to snuggle. When things finally quiet down, April melts into cozy naps and enjoys gentle affection. Sheās great with other dogs, has lived with them happily, does well with cats, and is also friendly with children. While sheās young and needs routine and gentle direction, crate training is required for her adoptersāsheāll need it to build confidence and reinforce her house training. April has an affectionate temperament and will reward a patient adopter with devotion and a little daily silliness. April comes from a tough start, but adopting her doesn't just save her lifeāit opens space for others in need. If you want a dog who will be a loyal, loving companion with a dash of shyness and lots of heart, April Bandera is ready for your home. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
