She is a rescue dog and with any rescue dog, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Raven is dog friendly and has done great with all the dogs we have introduced her to. She is great about matching energies with other dogs, from romping, bouncing, wrestling gently, and throwing paws with dogs who enjoy that style. When play is done, she’ll calmly walk away and enjoy the fresh air. Raven can be a little shy when she first meets new dogs and isn’t the type to come out wanting to play straight out the gate. She likes to get to know her pals first, have a proper hello, and then the rest is history. If play time gets a little too rough or if she is ready for a play break in that moment, she will give a verbal correction advocating for her boundaries. Her corrections are firm but always fair. We love a lady that advocates for her needs. In a home, Raven will do best with a doggy friend that is a happy medium like herself. A dog that enjoys romping around playing lighthearted games of chase and also a dog that isn’t looking for a playmate 24/7. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s fine too! Raven does not need the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable or to satisfy her energy needs. Raven also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! She loves treats and loves to learn new things. When you have those two things combined with how smart Raven is, you find yourself working with a gal that is easy to train! She already knows how to sit, the down position, and is eager to please. She walks well on a leash and is crate trained and potty trained too. From what we have seen so far, Raven also has great house manners and never really gets into things she shouldn't be. She would actually be a great companion if you're someone who works from home because she is quiet and she isn't the type that is going to be constantly bugging you for attention. Not to say that she doesn't love attention because she does, she just isn't a needy gal in those regards. Raven has beautifully balanced energy and is great at matching whatever you need her to be. Want to go on a hike, light run, or neighborhood walk? Raven will be your outdoorsy bestie. Want to relax and have a chill day? Raven will find a cozy spot to lay down and be your cuddly girl or will keep herself entertained with her favorite toy or ball. She truly is the best of both worlds! Speaking of toys, Raven loves them, especially tennis balls or any ball really. She lights up when she sees a ball and you instantly know you just made her day. She enjoys being outside and we would love for her to be able to go outside and play fetch any time she pleases and believe she would do best in a home with a backyard where she can do just that. With her wonderful manners, thoughtful play style, and ability to match the energy around her, she fits naturally into both active moments and quiet ones.
