Small enough to scoop up and call your little sidekick, but sturdy enough to keep up with everyday life. She has a fun, playful personality and a sweet, gentle nature, but she’s not the type to rush into things. She likes a moment to take it all in, figure you out, and then decide you’re her person. And once she does? That’s when the magic happens. Treats are the fast track to her heart (she’s very food motivated), and with a little patience, you’ll quickly see her start to open up, following you around, checking in on what you’re doing, and settling in close. Her foster’s favorite thing about her? The cuddles. Ella is the kind of girl who will curl up next to you and stay there all night, completely content just being near her person. It’s that quiet, cozy kind of love that feels really special. Ella is dog friendly and does well with other dogs, but like with people, she appreciates a proper introduction. Bigger dogs can feel a little overwhelming at first (she is tiny, after all), but she settles in quickly when given space and time. Once comfortable, she loves to play and enjoys games like chase and does best with dogs who have a similar easygoing, medium-energy vibe. She’s super into a rough-and-tumble type, more of a playful companion who likes to keep things fun but gentle. She’s also met a cat and did great. Curious but respectful, and not bothered by typical cat behavior. She handled it all like a polite little lady. Ella is working on crate training and will go in with encouragement (and snacks, of course), and she’s doing well with potty training so far. She’s a smart girl who is picking things up quickly and just needs consistency to keep building on that success. Because she loves being outside, exploring, and showing off her toys, she would do best in a home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her little routines. She’s also been around kids as young as 5 and did really well. Sweet, gentle, and happy to be included without being overwhelming. Ella isn’t the type to steal the spotlight the second she walks in but give her a little time, and she’ll quietly become your favorite part of the day. She’s playful, cuddly, and full of personality, with just the right mix of independence and affection.
