About Ruby

Ruby makes an impression the moment you meet her. She showed up alone one July 4th, likely spooked by fireworks, and immediately won over everyone with her goofy, wiggly strut. When Ruby comes out, it’s impossible not to smile: she’s all joy, swaying happily, looking for people to greet. She absolutely loves people and has done great with a 5-year-old—kids and adults alike are her favorite. Ruby is super affectionate and always up for a peanut butter treat. Baths don’t bother her, and she brings a lot of charm and character to every moment. But Ruby needs a home that matches her needs. She has to be the only pet—she is not compatible with dogs or cats and cannot live with other animals. Ruby does best with structure and consistency, needing to be leashed or in a secure yard at all times. She’ll need more work with her leash manners and will benefit from crate training and a routine. She destroys stuffed toys pretty quickly and isn’t the biggest fan of nail trims, though peanut butter helps. Ruby is returning to the shelter because her last family couldn’t give her the time she needs. She needs someone steady, patient, ready to put in the time and routine—not someone who will give up. Ruby is all heart and happiness with the right person. Give her a real shot this time. Adoption in Warren, OH only. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
