Ruby is one of those dogs you don’t forget. She found her way to us last Fourth of July, walking down the street alone. Maybe fireworks scared her… maybe she got lost… we don’t know. What we do know is that she quickly became a volunteer favorite. Because when Ruby comes out of her kennel… it’s the Ruby show That little wiggle walk… that sway sway sway… like “look at me, yo yo-yo!” ,she is SO happy to see everyone. And honestly? It makes you smile every single time. Loves ALL people Amazing with kids (has done great with a 5-year-old) Super affectionate and happy Loves treats (peanut butter is her weakness ) Doesn’t mind baths Full of personality and goofy charm She is truly a sweetheart… with her people. Now let’s talk about what Ruby needs , because we are determined to find her the right home this time. Must be the only pet Ruby is dog and cat aggressive and cannot live with other animals. She needs to be leashed at all times or have a very secure setup. Fenced in yard is best Leash manners need work She’s manageable, but will need continued training and consistency. Will need to be crate trained and re-trained Ruby will need structure, routine, and consistency to help her reset and succeed — and that’s not a bad thing. Crates are everyone’s friend when used the right way. Stuffed toys beware She loves them… but they don’t last long. Nail trims take patience She’s not a fan of her paws being touched — peanut butter helps! Ruby unfortunately is coming back at the shelter, and the truth is simple… they didn’t have the time for her. And like all dogs.. they are family .. She needs someone who is going to be there. Someone patient. Someone willing to put in the effort, the routine, the structure — and not give up on her .
