Arwen
AvailableArwen is a brindle, medium-sized Plott Hound/Pit Bull Terrier mix with a short coat. She is a young female, currently in Shreveport, LA. Her vaccinations are up to date, and she will be spayed before adoption. Arwen does not get along with cats or other dogs. She has a spirited, playful personality and is looking for a committed adopter.
About Arwen
Arwen and her family were left behind in the summer heat after their former owner moved out, leaving a mama dog and seven puppies in a kennel with no food or water. Fortunately, local rescuers got them to safety, and now Arwen and her mother Sheila are waiting for their turn at a permanent home. Arwen is full of energy and likes to be in the middle of whatever is happening. She thrives on attention and has a big, entertaining personality. She can be feisty with other dogs, especially around food, so anyone interested should be ready to manage these moments. Arwen does not get along with cats or other dogs, so she’ll do best as the only pet in the home. She is heartworm negative and still needs to be spayed, but The Mutt House will handle her surgery. If you have a positive vet reference, her adoption fee will be covered. Ready to give Arwen the stable, loving home she’s been waiting for? Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!

Questions about Arwen
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Arwen is a Plott Hound/Pit Bull Terrier mix, and dogs of her background tend to thrive in active households that can give them daily exercise and mental stimulation. A home with a yard or frequent outdoor access is ideal for her energy level.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Medium-energy mixes like Arwen appreciate regular walks, play sessions, and a secure outdoor area where she can run and explore. A fenced yard is helpful but not required if she gets plenty of exercise.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Plott Hound/Pit Bull Terrier mixes can do well with respectful, older children, especially when they've been properly socialized like Arwen has. However, since she has a strong, playful personality, supervision is always recommended.
