About Luke I'm all
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Luke is being cared for in Houston, Texas, and transport is available out of state for approved adopters. Luke is a stunning mix of Labrador Retriever, American Pitbull Terrier, and German Shepherd, which gives him his charming pointy "Spock" ears and his shiny black coat with a touch of white on his chest. At about 15 months old, he has grown into a handsome, energetic, and loving young dog. Luke’s beginnings were tough—he and his sister, Leia, survived weeks on the streets searching for food and shelter before being rescued. Initially, they were anxious when separated, but have blossomed individually with time and gentle training. Luke is heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and is especially gentle around smaller pups. This playful boy is potty trained (and even learning to use the bells on the door!), crate trained, and loves daily walks and rolling around for belly rubs. Like any young dog, he enjoys digging, chewing toys, and basking in the sun after a good play session. Luke would thrive in a home with a yard and ideally another canine friend to share adventures with. He is quick to learn, not food aggressive, and responds well to recall—especially if things get too rowdy during play. Luke’s sweet, loyal, and affectionate nature make him an ideal companion, and he's ready to find a family who can offer him a cool bed and plenty of love. If you want more information, Man’s Best Friend partners with the rescue for training and boarding and can share additional insights into his personality. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
