They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Aurora is an irresistibly lovable large husky/German shepherd mix, just over 2 years old, known for her loyalty, smarts, and delightful goofiness. She has the heart of a lapdog and adores her people with deep affection, always greeting them happily. Aurora weighs about 70 lbs and enjoys relaxing at home but lights up any room with her playful energy and sense of humor. Raised from a puppy in foster care after being rescued with her litter, Aurora’s journey has made her both well-socialized and adaptable, and she is now ready for her forever home. Though mellow for a husky mix, Aurora thrives on routine walks and doesn’t pull on leash. She may be a little shy at first, but wins over new friends with a gentle stroll, quickly becoming bonded for life. Aurora's excellent basic training means she is well-mannered and house trained, both in and out of her crate. Having grown up with small dogs and dog-savvy cats, she does well with calm canine companions or as the only pet, and gets along with confident cats. She’s even met livestock and chickens, suggesting she would be happy in a farm setting! Because of her size and energy, Aurora needs a family experienced with large dogs and an adult-only home. A yard is ideal—Aurora isn’t suited for apartment life. Aurora has a manageable liver shunt condition that requires a specific prescription diet (she can only eat her food and certain bland treats), annual bloodwork, and yearly cardiac monitoring for a minor heart condition. Both conditions are well managed, and she remains an energetic, playful companion. Aurora’s foster family adores her, and she’s eagerly waiting for a wonderful forever home.
