About Aurora
Aurora is a 2-year-old husky/German shepherd mix with a loyal, goofy spirit that’s quick to win people over. She thinks she’s a lap dog despite her large size, always looking for affection and forming strong bonds with her people. Aurora’s been with her foster family since she was a puppy, arriving as a stray with her litter and mom. Her sister was adopted early, but Aurora remained while her medical needs were addressed—she’s now healthy and ready for her own home. She’s a mellow girl for her breed, content to lounge but lights up with fun energy at the right moments. Aurora walks well on leash with no pulling and enjoys sniffing her way through the neighborhood. New people can make her a little unsure, but a walk is all it takes to win her over for life. Her foster family put in the work on her training, so she knows her basics and is easy to have in the house. Due to her size, Aurora needs a family experienced with large dogs. She gets along with other moderate or low-energy dogs after slow introductions, and has lived with small dogs before. Aurora is used to dog-savvy cats—she does best with confident felines that don’t mind her attention. Livestock and chickens don’t faze her either, and she’d be great on a farm. Aurora is looking for an adult-only home. She’s house and crate trained, comfortable free roaming alone or settling down in her crate at night. A home with a yard is a must; Aurora is not a fit for apartment living. Aurora has a liver condition managed by a prescription diet and annual bloodwork; she also has a heart issue that only needs yearly checks. She eats her food happily and enjoys play or pets as rewards. Aurora is one of those big-hearted dogs who never fails to make people smile, and she’s more than ready to find her perfect match. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Aurora
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Aurora, being a husky/German shepherd mix, thrives in homes with ample space and a secure yard. She prefers environments where she can get regular exercise and have room to stretch out.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Aurora will do best with a yard or access to outdoor space where she can explore and play. Large breeds like hers appreciate space to roam, so an apartment without a yard isn't ideal.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Aurora is looking for an adult-only home, which is often best for dogs of her size and temperament. Generally, husky/German shepherd mixes can be good with older children, but in Aurora’s case, she’s a better fit for homes without kids.
