Juneau is about a year old, and she is a sweet girl who loves treats and being with her people and dog friends. Juneau came to her foster home after being raised on the streets as a young puppy, and she has truly blossomed in her foster care. She currently weighs around 60 pounds and is fully grown, ready to find her fur-ever home. Having started life without her mom alongside her three brothers, Juneau was given lots of TLC and grew up among other dogs and caring people. Now, her brothers have all found families, and it's her turn for a happily ever after. Juneau is a bashful and submissive girl who will need a patient, understanding family to help her feel comfortable. She's naturally shy around new people and unfamiliar environments, but once trust is earned, she becomes a devoted and loving companion. Juneau adores cuddles on the couch and enjoys being close, whether you’re working from home or doing chores. Food helps her feel at ease, and her goofiness comes out when she plays—especially with the other dogs in her foster home. She’s gradually getting more confident on walks, which improve each day. An adopter experienced with large and fearful dogs would be a great match for Juneau, as she thrives with commitment and patience. Juneau is wonderful with other dogs, often acting as a great playmate and feeling safest with a confident canine friend in the home. She currently lives with dog-savvy cats and, with careful introductions, may do well with similar feline companions (but is not a match for shy cats). She's also adjusted well to living with teenagers. House and crate trained, Juneau is comfortable resting in her crate overnight or while you’re away. She’ll do best in a home with a backyard in a quiet neighborhood, and will quickly become your home's alert system!
