About Hammy
Hammy is a young, 10-month-old German Shepherd mix in Bryan, TX with a desire to find his forever family. He’s around 40 lbs and has a short, easy-to-care-for brown and black coat. Hammy’s at his best in an active household—he loves walks, runs, and especially fetch, which he could play all day if you let him. He’d be happiest with a playful dog sibling and appreciates routines with lots of activity. Though affectionate and goofy, Hammy doesn’t warm up to strangers instantly and might bark at first, especially around men. With some patience, a ball, and a couple of hand-fed treats, he quickly lets his guard down and transforms into a loyal companion. He’s a true couch cuddler with a soft spot for laps and pillows, making everyone around him laugh with his endearing, dopey personality. Hammy is house trained, has good leash manners, and is respectful of dogs not interested in play. He’d do best in homes with kids 12 and up while he continues to gain confidence around new people. He’s not a candidate for homes with cats. Hammy is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He’s one of those slow-burn best friends who’ll give you everything once he trusts you. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
