Maximus
AvailableMaximus is a male Rottweiler in San Antonio, TX, who is neutered, house trained, and up to date on his vaccinations. He’s an extra-large adult who thrives on play, training, and engaging activities.
About Maximus
Maximus is a huge, playful Rottweiler with all the energy of a giant puppy. At around 94 pounds and only two years old, he hasn’t realized just how big he is, so play sessions tend to be full-body events. He’s outgoing and loose, loves greeting new people, and listens well, especially if you have treats on hand—he’ll stick with you if you do. Maximus is very strong on leash, but he’s responsive to correction and treats. He rides in the car without issues and learns quickly thanks to his food motivation. His early environment didn’t offer much training or mental stimulation, so Maximus is catching up in foster care. He craves activity, thrives with outdoor play, and is obsessed with toys. If you don’t have a pool, a kiddie pool can keep him happy for hours—like many Rottweilers, he loves the water. He’s crate trained, enjoys indoor life, and has lived happily with older kids and another dog in the home. Small children aren’t a fit due to his size and clumsy enthusiasm. He hasn’t been tested with cats. Maximus needs a home with experience raising large breeds or Rottweilers, and adopters who understand he’s not a bully, just a sweet, devoted family member with a lively spirit and a love for learning.
