About Albert
Albert is a 13-year-old, 70-pound yellow Labrador Retriever with a gentle heart and the kind of soul you only find in senior dogs. He’s working on his house and crate manners—still needs some support there—but he’s excellent on a leash and happiest outdoors. Sun and a ball in a fenced yard suit him perfectly. Life with Albert is slow, cozy, and full of naps, as he’ll curl up pretty much anywhere, including unexpected spots like closets. Invite him to the sofa and he’ll hop up, wriggle with happiness, and ask for cuddles. He’s laid-back, adores snuggling, and does well with kids and the dogs in his foster home. Out in public, though, he can react to unfamiliar dogs, and is not a match with cats. Albert knows several commands—Sit, Paw, Lay, and Come. Deafness, joint pain, and a cyst on his neck (which occasionally bleeds) mean he appreciates a predictable routine and gentle care. Short walks and a soft spot to sleep are perfect; he dreams of a home with a peaceful vibe, preferably with a yard for sunbathing and some car rides here and there. Albert’s looking for a quiet family or older couple ready to offer love during his golden years. Adoption includes all his veterinary care. Out-of-state adoption is possible if you’re willing to meet in person. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
