Anne, sometimes called Annie or Anne-cakes, is a happy-go-lucky Black and Tan Coonhound mix with a sweet and calm nature. She weighs about 40 pounds, striking a nice balance for anyone seeking a medium-sized dog without all the usual slobber that comes with some hounds. Watchful and loyal, Anne will let you know when someone’s at the door with her unmistakable hound call, but she’s respectful—just blocking her view quiets her right down. Anne gets along well with people and dogs, though puppies can sometimes get on her nerves. She’s easy-going, gentle, affectionate, and not needy, content to nap in the sun or amuse herself while you’re busy. People often comment on her beautiful markings, gentle eyes, soft fur, and floppy ears. She enjoys baths, sheds very little, and is happy to be petted. Anne is crate-trained, though she prefers no bedding, and she’ll do fine as either a family’s only pet or part of a calm dog group.
