About Gordy
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Gordy is a unique and hilarious little dachshund with a story sure to touch your heart. Found abandoned with his friend Mama Mia in an office parking lot, Gordy was initially fearful and hesitant to trust. It took patience and gentle coaxing from volunteers to earn his confidence, but once comfortable, Gordy reveals his incredibly affectionate and loyal nature. He is the type to make you laugh with his quirky charm and wins over everyone who takes the time to get to know him. Gordy loves nothing more than being close to his person, enjoying cozy lap time, soulful eye contact, and plenty of kisses. He's fantastic on a leash and adores car rides—ready for any adventure alongside his favorite people. While he can be nervous around new faces and especially men at first, a little patience soon turns him into the ultimate lap dog and vigilant watchdog. Gordy is protective, connecting quickly with women and showing loving devotion. He's good with most female dogs but would rather not share his home with cats. Older children would be a good match for his personality, although he can be introduced to younger kids as well. If you’re searching for a character-packed companion who treasures affection and will reward you with endless love, Gordy could be your perfect fit. Whether on his own or maybe alongside his best pal Mama Mia, Gordy is ready to meet the family that will help him fully blossom. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Gordy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Dachshunds are adaptable dogs that do well in both apartments and houses, provided they get enough attention and mental stimulation. They thrive in homes where they can be part of the family and have cozy spots to relax.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Dachshunds do not require large yards but benefit from daily walks and safe outdoor play. They enjoy exploring but should always be supervised due to their curious and sometimes stubborn nature.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Dachshunds can be great with children, especially if socialized early. Because of their sensitive backs, gentle interactions are important, so older kids who understand respectful handling are usually the best match.
