About Jive

Jive is a five-year-old, 17-pound Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who’s still figuring out the world isn’t out to get him. When he was found wandering, he bore all the signs of a tough past—scratches, sores, and a lot of fear. New places and unfamiliar faces worry him, but once he warms up, he reveals a gentle, affectionate side. With his favorite people, he loves curling up in laps, giving kisses, and soaking up attention. He even gets playful—squeaky toys and fetch are his jam, and it’s a real joy to see him relaxed and having fun. Jive will thrive with someone experienced in helping fearful dogs, a person willing to take things slow and steady. He’s come a long way already with a trainer and is learning to walk on a harness, though anything around his neck is still pretty uncomfortable for him. If you’re patient, compassionate, and can provide the stability he needs, Jive is ready to keep making progress and show his loving spirit. Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to move on, Jive is in Phoenix, AZ, looking for a fresh start with the right adopter. Start your journey together! Apply now.
