Kochi is a small, short-coated, adult male Shih Tzu based in Palm Harbor, FL. He is neutered, vaccinated, and house trained. Kochi gets along well with other dogs and prefers a patient, experienced adopter who can keep building his confidence.

About Kochi

Kochi is a small, quiet Shih Tzu around 2 years old who prefers calm and predictable routines. He gets along with other dogs, but new people and situations tend to make him nervous and can bring out a feisty streak. Kochi is working with his foster and a trainer to gain more confidence, but he does need an adopter who really understands canine body language and will commit to continued training. He isn’t a fit for a first-time dog owner, and training is a required part of his adoption. Grooming is a positive experience for him, and he enjoys treats and praise for being good. Vet visits are still a challenge, and that’s something his foster is helping him improve with patience. Kochi loves sticking close to his person—if you sit down, expect him on your lap or right next to you. He’s mellow, house trained, and looks forward to gentle walks. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
